Marble is a beautiful material to enrich your interior. The natural stone is timeless and durable. Because marble is a natural product, the drawings of the marble may differ from product photos.
Marble is porous, so it is important that marble is cleaned and maintained properly. Marble is easily damaged by acidic liquids such as vinegar, lemon juice and orange juice. This attacks the lime that makes up the marble. Coffee and hot objects can also leave annoying rings. You can better protect marble against stains with a layer of marble wax. This wax can also be ordered. In addition, we always recommend using coasters.
Regular cleaning is important to keep your marble beautiful. You can use green soap, soda or a special cleaning agent for natural stone. If a stain accidentally appears, it is important that you remove it as quickly as possible and do not let the stain set. DO NOT rub, but dab the stain with paper towels or an absorbent cloth. DO NOT use furniture care products containing silicone, cleaning agents containing bleach (e.g. lemon) or a solvent such as stain remover, turpentine, benzene, thinner or similar agents. Marble is very sensitive to scratches, so do not use scouring pads or cleaning products with abrasives.
Scratches in marble are not easy to remove. They are often less visible if you clean it in the above manner. You can try to remove a deeper scratch with fine sandpaper, but be careful not to make additional scratches. Do you think it's too big a risk? Then call a natural stone specialist to take a look.
The color may become duller, especially with dark types of marble. We recommend using a color intensifier for this. By applying a thin layer of color intensifier to the marble top, the color intensity is increased. This can also be ordered.
