To get the most out of your fabric seating furniture and ensure its long lifespan, you should follow a number of basic rules:

• Do not place your seat near a fireplace that is in use.
• Avoid exposure to excessive sunlight.
• Be careful with jeans that may transfer color to the fabric: this may not be possible to repair.
• Do not expose your seating furniture to scratches from pets or sharp objects (e.g. studs, buckles).

 

Cleaning and maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures that your upholstered furniture remains in perfect condition. Vacuum the upholstery regularly with a vacuum cleaner to keep the fabric in good condition and to prevent dust, hair and crumbs from settling in the furniture housing. Be careful with fringes and tassels: only vacuum them on a low power. Remove spilled liquids and other accidental stains as soon as possible, but never with aggressive soaps or cleaning agents. In the case of an old and dried-out stain, the first step is always to vacuum. To remove stains, use a special stain cleaner such as HG stain remover or a similar product. Follow the instructions on the packaging and always test the solution on an inconspicuous part of the upholstery before using it on a more noticeable part. To maintain the original softness and resilience of the cushions, you should regularly fluff and turn the cushions by hand.
